Matt Heath

Director

Former Touring AVP and FIVB Professional

Head Coach Matt Heath competed professionally for over 10 years including 53 events on the AVP Tour (Association of Volleyball Professionals), domestically, and he has represented the USA in 14 different countries on 4 different continents with the FIVB Tour (Federation International de Volleyball), the premiere international tour.  He is currently one of 7 High Performance Coaches for the Florida Region of USA Volleyball.  This position allows him to work with the state’s best players in their preparation for National events.

Coach Matt has had the privilege of training with legends of the game, including but not limited to  Karch Kiraly (3 time Gold Medalist and current Women’s Indoor National Team Head Coach), Butch May (Misty May’s father), as well as United States Olympians, Jake Gibb, Sean Rosenthal, Todd Rogers, Riley Salmon (Indoor Beijing Gold Medalist) and was the former roommate of the team of Phil Dalhausser (Beijing Gold Medalist) and Nick Lucena, USA representatives in the Rio Olympic Games and currently the #1 ranked team in the world.

Matt’s experience competing with and against the elite of the game has given him insight to the skills and strategies needed to compete at every level.  In addition to his knowledge of the game, Matt has a unique ability to share what he has learned and a talent for making training fun.  His coaching programs emphasize proper beach technique in an environment of positive reinforcement.

Wes Hawkins

Fitness Director

Wes Hawkins began his volleyball career in 2010 on the Men’s club team at University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Hawkins played four years, serving two as captain and Co- MVP of the team, and helped take his team to the semi-finals in the 2013 NCVF 1-AAA National Championship. After a brief stint in Europe pursuing professional indoor, he returned to the US to pursue professional beach. He began his competitive beach career in the summer of 2012,  Hawkins has since won multiple Open-Level events all over the country and is currently attempting to qualify for the Professional Beach tour.​
